Taormina

Although it’s a 1.5 hour’s drive to Noto it would be remiss of us not to mention the stunning hilltop town of Taormina on the east coast of Sicily. Sitting near the active volcano Mount Etna the town is famous for its Teatro Antico a Greek-Roman theatre which is still used today. From here cliffs drop dramatically to the sea and white sandy beaches, one of which connects to the tiny island of Isola Bella, a nature reserve.
